Fotoreto, a browser-based Lightroom alternative, comparing a portrait before and after editing

Nothing gets uploaded

Every edit runs on your own device. No server ever sees your photos.

Free, no sign-up

Open the page and start editing. No account, no photo limit.

Edits RAW files

Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Olympus, Panasonic and DNG. On desktop it edits the 16-bit RAW data directly.

Hundreds at once

Edit one photo, sync it to the whole shoot, export in one go.

Edit one. The whole shoot follows.

Exposure and colour are balanced photo by photo, then one look is applied to hundreds of shots.

Syncing the whole shoot8 photos

Auto, explained.

One button fixes exposure and white balance, then tells you in plain words what it changed.

Simple mode: one-click auto fix with a card explaining each change and labelled sliders

Words anyone understands.

Built for people who have never edited a photo, not just for pros.

No jargon

Brightness, warmth, vividness. Every slider says in one line what it does.

It explains every change

After an auto fix you get a list of what changed. Tap a line to jump straight to that setting.

Simple or Full

Beginners start in Simple mode. Switch to Full when you want every control.

A first-run guide

The first time you open the app, a short tour points out each button. Replay it any time.

Natural skin. Blemishes gone.

Face-aware smoothing that keeps texture, even skin tone, and an automatic face lift for backlit shots.

Blemish removal: circles mark every spot the app found

Spot removal you review

Every spot is circled, moles and freckles are left alone. Click a circle to keep it, click skin to remove more.

Skin check layer: blemishes show as dark dots on grey

A retoucher’s check layer

Switch to high-contrast black and white or a frequency-separation view to see every spot. On screen only, never in your export.

Remove objects. Just paint over them.

The app fills the spot from its surroundings. Want to pick the source yourself? Switch to Healing or Clone, just like Lightroom.

After object removal: the swing, birdhouse and wind bells are gone, the garden behind filled in naturally

Reshape like a retoucher.

Bigger eyes, slimmer nose, sharper jaw, no double chin, following every face automatically. Lengthen legs, liquify and fill thinning hair with a brush.

Face before reshaping

Face after reshaping: bigger eyes, slimmer nose, sharper jaw and chin
After: bigger eyes, slimmer nose and jaw

Natural face shaping

Eyes, nose, mouth, V-line jaw and double chin. 68 landmarks per face keep each change where it belongs, on every face in the frame.

Full-body photo before leg lengthening
Before
Full-body photo after leg lengthening, head and body unchanged
After: longer legs

Longer legs

Drag two lines to the hips and ankles, then move the slider. Legs get longer, head and body stay put.

Liquify brush

Push in a waistline, slim an arm, smooth a fold. Each brush session is one undo step.

Hairline before hair fill
Before
Hairline after painting with the hair fill brush: thin areas look fuller
After hair fill

Fill thinning hair

Paint over a thin patch or a visible parting. Nearby hair colour fills the gaps.

Cull before you edit.

Duplicates, blur, camera shake, focus that missed the face or the subject, and closed eyes get flagged. You make the call.

Culling view with 25 photos from one shoot: star ratings under file names, a duplicate frame flagged, reasons on the right

Everything a shoot needs.

From import to sharing.

Sync the whole shoot

Copy settings to every photo while exposure still adapts per frame.

111 built-in looks

Filter by theme and get a suggestion per photo. Save your own look and share it as a link.

Match a reference

Pick any photo whose colour you love and the open photo follows it.

Curves, HSL, colour grading

Pro colour tools: tone curve, per-colour HSL and grading for shadows, midtones and highlights.

Depth-aware light

The app measures near and far, so you can brighten the subject and darken the background.

Crop to any ratio

1:1, 4:5, 2:3 and 9:16 for social, with a rule-of-thirds grid.

Batch blemish removal

Clean up many portraits in one go, then review any photo you like.

Lens fixes

Correct distortion, remove purple fringing, add or remove vignetting.

Export straight to a folder

Pick a purpose and the size is handled. Shooting data kept, GPS removed.

HEIC, TIFF, WebP

iPhone photos and wide-gamut TIFFs open with accurate colour.

Pick up where you left off

Closed the tab by accident? Come back and continue exactly where you were.

Install it like an app

Add it to your desktop or phone and it opens even offline.

Bring your own LUTs

Add .cube files from Photoshop, Lightroom, DaVinci… and use them like the built-in looks. They stay on your device.

Star ratings like Lightroom

Press 1 to 5 to rate, then filter by stars. Ratings you set in Lightroom or Bridge come along.

White balance in Kelvin

RAW files show the as-shot temperature and tint, and you adjust in Kelvin just like Lightroom.

Even out skin

Smooths blotchy light and dark patches like hand dodge & burn, while keeping the shape of the face.

Watermark on export.

Image or text logo, sized consistently on portrait and landscape frames.

Watermark dialog with a text logo and live preview

A free Lightroom and Capture One alternative.

It does not replace everything those apps do. But to edit a whole shoot quickly and share it, you need no subscription and no install.

Frequently asked questions

Is Fotoreto a good Lightroom alternative?

For editing a whole shoot quickly it is, and it is free: exposure and colour, looks, sync, blemish and object removal, export with a watermark. If you manage years of photos in a catalog or shoot tethered, Lightroom is still the better fit.

Is there a free Capture One alternative?

Fotoreto opens RAW files from Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Olympus, Panasonic and DNG, edits the 16-bit RAW data directly on desktop, costs nothing and never uploads your photos.

How does object removal work?

Paint over the object and the app fills it with the surrounding texture, preferring what sits behind the object. Not happy with the result? Press Try another fill. It never invents things that are not in the photo.

Is the app available in English?

The editor interface is in Vietnamese today. An English interface is on the way.

I have never edited photos. Can I use it?

Yes. One click balances exposure and colour, every slider is explained, and a short guide walks you through on first launch.

Is it free?

Yes. Fotoreto is free, needs no account and has no photo limit.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Photos are read and edited on your device. After the first visit it works offline too.

Which files can it open?

JPEG, PNG, HEIC, WebP, TIFF and RAW files from Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Olympus and Panasonic, plus DNG.

Is shooting data kept on export?

Yes. Camera, lens and exposure data are kept. GPS location is removed to protect your privacy.

What if I close the page mid-edit?

Come back and press Continue to reopen the same photos with all your edits.

Which browser works best?

Chrome or Edge on desktop give the full experience: export straight to a folder and automatic session restore. Other browsers edit just the same and download files one by one or as a ZIP.

Try it on your photos.

Opens instantly. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for. Interface in Vietnamese for now.
